Inspections:
Our licensed and experienced inspectors will inspect your home to determine what method of treatment or if any repairs are necessary. We will issue a wood destroying organism report with our findings and an itemized bid. You may read through the report on your property and choose with which items you would like to proceed.
Fumigations: (see Treatments)
A Fumigation may be needed in order to ensure total eradication of drywood termite infestation in a structure. You will need a licensed inspector to make that determination. If a fumigation is recommended, unless you selling your property, a secondary recommendation of local treatment (see Treatments) can be performed in lieu of the fumigation; these methods will only be effective in areas we can see and are not meant for treatment over an entire structure. If you choose to proceed with a recommended fumigation, we will walk you through the process step by step.
Treatments:
Localized treatments can be done as needed. For more information see Treatments.
Structural Repairs:
Our experienced crew can do any structural repairs that are needed as a result of damage from termites, fungi (dry rot) or other wood destroying organisms. All repairs are professionally done in compliance with all local building codes. Repairs are generally made with common construction materials or materials similar to the damaged wood members. Requests can be made for the use specific materials or special order items. There may be instances where specialized contractors are needed. If this is the case; Foss Termite Control works with and can subcontract the appropriate companies.
Escrow Services:
Whether you are buying or selling a house, a WDO (termite) report is normally required. Your real estate agent will be aware of this. During the sale of most properties, the bank will require that the house or building be free of all active wood destroying pests and damages they have caused. We can inspect the property and write the reports that are needed; complete all treatments and repairs; file the necessary completion paperwork certifying that the property is free of infestation and structural damage. We will work directly with the escrow company to ensure that all requirements of the sale pertaining to wood destroying organisms are met.
Control Service:
When all the treatments are completed on your original inspection report, you will be covered for one (1) year, after which you may want to continue preventive maintenance to protect your property. Our Annual Control Service program is a flat fee service of $350.00 per year that includes an annual inspection and the necessary localized treating. This program is primarily designed for the control of Drywood and Subterranean Termites. This is the major species of structural damage in California. Drywood Termites can enter the structure from any outside source; therefore, we cannot guarantee that the infestations will not reach such proportions as to warrant fumigation. For this reason fumigations are not included in the Control Service. During the inspection we check for Fungi. Although an inspection for Fungi is made and reported to you, we cannot assume any responsibility for Fungi. This is necessary because we cannot control all of the elements that could cause this condition such as roof leaks, plumbing leaks and other related conditions. We will contact you annually to remind you to schedule an inspection and set up your Control Service treatment.
